Apart from the historical perspective that mentions Bill Clinton and and Princess Diana - it is interesting that Marilyn Manson uses denigration of christianity shock tactics to "sell" and I really doubt he he would do the same thing against Islam.

Lakita Garth-Wright had some interesting points.

Then here is recent interview (2012) where he talks about his artistic "redemption" in new album "Born Villian".  Mentions rather heavy recognition that more school shootings associated to his music than anyone.



And then here is an interview with Bill Maher post 2008 Post Gellans anti-muslim cartoon riots - where he condemns all religion he admits christianity is "less" contemptible than Islam.

Pam Geller of "Atlas Shrugs" lays waste to Erin Burnett of CNN

Apart from lacking wet mud and T-shirts  - this was a knock-down, drag-em-out battle.



At Gellers blog she reveals the other parts of the interview that was edited out - a wise move that given that Geller slayed them in that part as well.

Here is letter of protest I wrote to CNN about this segment.

I am shocked that Erin Burnett is "fronting" for - yes, savages - who clearly are attempting to destroy freedom of expression/speech. 1) I am incredulous that a MAJOR US MEDIA OUTLET is advocating RESTRICTIONS ON SPEECH because they are afraid of the reaction by Muslim fanatics. 2) Ignoring the violence that has taken place since Sept 11 where an American Ambassador was murdered - in a country America and it's Allies just help liberate? 3) Apparently swallowing - hook, line and sinker - the laughable premise that ALL THIS MURDER & MAYHEM over a dumb video (that none have seen) 4) High School debate tactics that ignore the REAL defn of "Jihad". Yes in English it is condensed to "struggle" - but this is such a etho-centric way of understanding "Jihad". In Arabic it is "A religious war with those who are unbelievers in the mission of Muhammad ... enjoined especially for the purpose of advancing Islam and repelling evil from Muslims."  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jihad

This was a good debate - but  more shocking was Erin Burnett's apparent acceptance of chilling debate on this vital topic.  She is now part of an Islamic 5th column in America pandering to appeasement like Chamberlain did for Hitler in 1938.  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Neville_Chamberlin#September_1938:_Munich

Re-evaluating Quebec during their Election

IMHO Sun Media has done a wonderful job of covering the Quebec Election.  They have re-broadcast live english translated Leaders Debates that has brought the issues to English Canada for the first time. (I sent a thank-you to Quebecor for this and mentioned that one would have expected a taxpayer funded public broadcaster with a responsibility to promote national dialogue would have done this - but no.)

This was Adler's take on the current campaign.

 

Finally, Michel Kelly-Gagnon - President of the Montreal Economics Institute had what I though was a brilliant suggestion to how to reform Federal Equalization Payments.  He suggests including a proxy that takes into account UNDEVELOPED Provincial Natural Resources in order to incent provinces not to "free-load" off others simply by refusing to develop up their potential and assume a position of natural moral superiority. This would help Alberta and encourage many other provinces to get off their "high horses".

Cdn Women's Soccer Team earns Bronze

What a series!  The Canadian Women's Team played an AMAZING game against the U.S.A - and in truth I agree the ref was crap.  I didn't mind the call against Erin Mcleod for holding onto the ball too long as that was earned - but the subsequent hand-ball was ridiculous and it led to a Penalty shot that was the 3-3 tie goal.

It was clear that the Norwegian ref was inexperienced.  Give me a Latin American Ref every time we play against the U.S.A please.   Christiana Pedersen made a number of rookie errors throughout the game but for me the most glaring was in 2nd Half when U.S player Morgan was battling Diane Matheson for the ball off a deep pass on the blind quarter (for the linesperson) off our goal box - and Morgan CLEARLY dribbled the ball off-side.  It was so obvious that Matheson pulled back expecting a whistle that never came - so Morgan recovered the ball and continued play  deep in our end.  She passed to a surprised Wambach who fired off a shot that Macleod caught.  It did not directly lead to a goal - but certainly indicated how poorly the Ref was positioning herself for calls - as well as the skill of the linesperson.  Canada outplayed the U.S in their match and I am sure the American gals know how lucky they were.

And in the Bronze match-up against the French - yes Canada hung in there after leaving it on the field against the U.S - but the beautiful winning goal ending was not the same theft that gave the America their win.  The main difference for Canada was I feel an incredible defensive line-up with depth of experience and talent.  It was immortalized by Desiree Scott who saved the day in the Bronze medal game against France with her incredible deflection on the goal crease.  Still I reserve my true praise for St. Albert AB born Keeper Erin Macleod - who performed incredibly well for both final matches and IMHO must be MVP#2 after Sinclair.
