Swedish Prime Minister Olof PALME was assassinated evening of Feb 28, 1986. It was a shocking murder in that country unused to such violence and I believe it marked the death of the ideals of Social Democratic technocratcy worldwide - except it has taken a bit longer for many to realize.

It seems that noted Swedish author Stig Larsen (who died in 2004) believed Prime Minister Olaf Palme's murder was due to his opposition to the racist apartheid regime in South Africa. Larsen sent 15 boxes of files to the Security services over a number of years.
