Recently I saw a video of a suicide bomber in Afganistan - he drove a flatbed truck that appeared to only be loaded with about 2ft of cargo but Al Quaeda said it was 10 tonnes (8 tonnes PCL and 2 tonnes TNT) - but I couldn't believe the size of the explosion! Here is example of 2,000 lbs of ANFO.
This is similar but appears a smaller truck (advance to 00:30 sec mark) - but it is waiting until the convoy behind it is along side it before detonation. What a terrible event.
These are called VBIEDs (Vehicle Born Improvised Explosive Devices) and below is an example of captured video (text says 30lb of explosives in the red car - but it did not say what kind).
Here is a pic of the red car after the explosion. The targeted VIP in the white sedan apparently lived - although I can't believe they were "unaffected" in any way.
