Age is a case of mind over matter. If you don't mind, it don't matter.

* Following Jackie Robinson the first to break the Colour Bar of Baseball in 1947. Robinson had a strong connection to Canada as he was first tried out with the Broklyn Dodgers Farm Team - the Montreal Royals. Paige himself was older and considered a bigger star player in the Negro Leagues - and supposedly had some hurt feelings about not being first but got over it as I guess he and Jackie were pals.
